Register for Orientation

We are so excited to have you on campus for New Student Orientation! Registration for Summer Orientation programs will be available in April.  Summer orientation dates are tentative and subject to change due to inclement weather.

We offer several different orientation programs to fit the needs of our students.  Family members and supporters are encouraged to also attend our orientation program. We offer special sessions just for family members. You can find information about each of our programs below.

Honors College and
Scholars Program Students

New UMBC students admitted to the Honors College or one of our Scholars Programs are invited to join us for an overnight orientation program. Students will stay overnight in one of our Residential Hall. Orientation for Honors & Scholars students will be on June 9th and 10th.

First-Year Orientation Programs

New First-Year students admitted to UMBC will be able to join us for New Student Orientation on select dates reserved just for First-Year students. This is your chance to connect with other new First Year Retrievers. We will offer programming for first-year students and families on June 16, 18, 23, & 25.

Additional dates in July & August will be released later this Spring.

Transfer Orientation Programs

New Transfer students admitted to UMBC will be able to join us for New Student Orientation on select dates reserved just for Transfer students. This is your chance to connect with other new Retrievers that are transferring into UMBC. We will offer programming for Transfer students and families on June 11 and 24.

Additional dates in July & August will be released later this Spring.

Dawg Days are extended orientation opportunities to support new students in their transition by building a sense of belonging and connecting with like minded peers. Additional information about extended orientation programs will be released in February. These programs are open to First-Year and Transfer students. There are additional fees for Dawg Days programs.
