Dawg Days: Service

DAWG DAYS: SERVICE

Combine your Orientation program with our Shriver Center in this unique on-campus overnight experience! Dawg Days: Service is a two-day, one-night program designed to create spaces of belonging through service. By choosing this program, you will also be placed in advance into a cluster of courses for your first semester, giving you choice scheduling and familiar faces you’ll continue to get to know throughout your first semester.

The Shriver Center addresses critical social challenges by bridging campus and community through engaged scholarship and applied learning.

This two-day, overnight experience allows you more time to connect with peers and mentors while also serving our surrounding community. Overnight accommodations, meals, and transportation to service sites are included.

– Overnight stay in one of our residence halls
– Fun evening activities, including some UMBC signature events with our Student Events Board
– Opportunities to participate in community engagement, applied learning, and community-based service delivery
– Opportunity connect with students in your major and have common classes together in your first semester
